What is school of choice?
School of choice is an opportunity for out-of-district students to attend Mar Lee School District.
Can anyone apply?
Students who reside in other local school districts within the Calhoun County Intermediate School District, and students who reside in local school districts located in contiguous intermediate school districts are eligible to apply to Mar Lee School District through the schools of choice application process.
What is the process?
Out-of-district students must complete a Mar Lee School application for school of choice during the enrollment period.
When is the enrollment period?
The enrollment period for new school of choice students for the 2022-23 first semester is June 1st - June 30th, 2022.
How many spots are open for the 2022-23 school year?
Mar Lee has the following spots open for the 2022-23 school year. The window for this fall is closed. We will hold a random drawing if more than the number of students apply. We will also have a wait list.
When do we find out if our out-of-district student can attend Mar Lee School District?
Families will be notified about the status of their application after the end of the enrollment period.
Where do I begin?
Applications for school of choice will be available on this website. You can also request an application to be mailed to you by calling the school at 269 781-5412. Applications are accepted during the enrollment period of June 1st-30th, 2022.
What kind of information do we need to complete the application?
The application asks for basic information on the student, i.e., name, address, date of birth, entering grade level, school district of residence, school last attended, parent contact information, disciplinary history, special education services receiving and parent/guardian signature.
Do you have before and after school care?
Yes, we offer before child care starting at 7:30 am and after school care until 5:30 pm.
